Sa-dk10 plays dvd but wont play cd

Hello, I replaced the defective spindle motor. Now after replacement dvd's play without any problem. When a CD is inserted player says 'NO DISC' and you can see that the motor is not spinning the disc. How could this be that the DVD spins but the CD does not?

Whats on the CD? is it a commercial CD or a burned copy MP3?

I tried both commercial and burned CD's. None will play. Strange but experimented and turned the CD upside down and it was spinning.
