samsung 58" plasma problems

Samsung 58" plasma problems. started a couple months ago with tv cycling on and off when turned on. gradually got worst and worst.Later when turned on it would have all blue screen then cycle off and on. then same with red screen then again off and on etc. sometimes screeching noises. eventually the screen would come on with perfect picture and voice, sometimes after 2 or more hours +. called Samsung service for an in home call and they say its the plasma panel. about $900 to replace. If that's the problem. now today there is no picture. voice is fine but screen apears grey in color. is this thing shot or is it something simple?

Yeah, bought new no fall of 09. Once the unit would finally come on after hours of cycling the picture was perfect. But yesterday was the first time that we got nothing. It took several hours for voice to finally come through and then the screen was just grey.

Sound more like a power supply problem. A local service tech might be able to give you better news than Samsung on this kind of repair.

The tech came twice. First time he said it was something with a grafix board (something like that). He came with the board, replaced and same issue. Didn't resolve anything. He checked all boards, capacitors etc. Spend over an hour the first time he came out checking everything. When the part he replaced didn't solve the problem he said it was the screen.
