I have a samsung smart tv, a harmon kardon avr 151and a new samsung bluray 8500. The bluray is connected to the avr using hdmi cable. The avr is connected to the TV using hdmi (through the wall, etc no exposed cables to the TV). I do not have a standard TV aerial point on the wall.
I can access the bluray using remote on TV however the bluray is not able to find any TV channels and is asking me to connect to aerial.
This setup has previously worked with foxtel cable, although in that case there was a separate foxtel connection.

How do I get the (new) bluray to find the channels? Is it all supposed to work through the dmi cable?

The tuner in the Samsung has to be connected to an aerial for you to get any over thea air channels. Try an indoor one if you can't use an outdoor aerial. You can also try connecting it to your network for web based TV.
