Samsung Charge vs iPhone 5 Camera

So I have the Charge and apparently its a 8 MP camera but it takes absolutely horrid pictures compared to my girlfriend iphone 5. Whats the deal? according to this website they are same mega pixel.

I dont know much about cameras but how come my pictures are so much worse?

MP is related to the size of the image, not quality. All phone cameras will handle the images differently and some will produce better images than others. I believe the iPhone 5 was once top for in-built camera quality too (compared to other phones like the S3 and Note 2).

Ahh ok so the MP doesn't tell the entire story. Guess Ill be looking into a better phone soon. Thanks
