Question Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) 16 Gb with no room

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) 16 GB and it has no room ... I have a 128 GB card in it, but most programs can't be saved on it. It's frustrating. I have to delete most of the apps I want. Even when I update certain apps that are saved on the card, they revert back to the hard drive. Any ideas on freeing up more space?

How difficult is it to root? And do you have any good guides or tutorials for that?
