[citation][nom]amk09[/nom]I really like it but it looks a lot like the iphone[/citation]

All phones have that look now-days, no need of commenting it for the 10^6 time.

It will be interesting to see how Galaxy S II is compared to LG P990 Optimus 2X and Motorola ATRIX.
It seems like they all have rather similar specs.

I had really bad luck with my last Samsung smartphone, due to Samsung screwing up the implementation of the OS. I'm not sure I would trust them again, maybe buy an HTC instead.

Wow, they couldn't get Android 2.2 on the first Galaxy S before this? I bought the Epic in November and they said 2.2 was just around the corner. I guess this is what they meant.

To Cadder,

Considering that apple is buying most of their iphone parts from samsung, any samsung smartphone is probably going to be a good investment. also.... the iphone is going to end up being a wanna-be android phone!

I bought the Galaxy S Captivate. Screw Samsung in the phone derpartment. They said Froyo was coming and that never happened. The lack of support they have shown with their poor GPS and OS upgrades has me looking anywhere else but at Samsung. Also, no front camera? Again? From a current Samsung owner, beware.

It looks, but it is not, that is the important thing.

I got Froyo on my Samsung Vibrant through Tmobile 3 weeks ago and it makes the phone run a lot better. I think Tmobile is the first company to upgrade the Galaxy S line to 2.2.

Another VERY disappointed Samsung Galaxy S owner. Finish v2.2 for your current customers first before talking about the next model, please! I'm so turned off by Samsung. I wish I bought an HTC.

Samsung IS basically screwing existing Galaxy S owners with the Lack of 2.3 on them, BUT the MOST screwed are Captivate owners.. ALl EU carriers with the Galaxy S GT-i9000 have 2.2.1 now, T-Mobile has 2.2, Bell/Telus in Canada has 2.2, and the top 2 US carriers, Verizon (fascinate) and AT&T with the Captivate, are still on 2.1 with broken GPS. I've long since fixed mine by using stuff at XDA Developers to get the EU 2.2.1 on it. So Samsung HAS the software for at LEAST the captivate.
I'd not buy another samsung myself for this very fact, but I am at the core of the issue torn, as I wonder if it is Samsung or the carrier that is the hold up in the case of the Captivate.. In either case, Samsung is the manufacturer so I suppose I'll blame them, but wether thats fair or not.. No idea..
Suffice it to say, I'm getting a little irritated at the whole Google love of T-Mobile and them getting all the damn google dev phones.. I just want the AOSP Google software and cant get it because I live in the other 90% of the US where T-Mobile ISNT.
End rant. Screw Samsung.

Blame AT&T and Verizon...... not Samsung. Why don't u guys google Captivate Android 2.2? The version was leaked on the net for a purpose.
There are so many people with iPhone and Motorola Android owners jealous of my AMOLED screen. I will buy another one for sure!

It's not Samsungs problem that your carrier hasn't updated your Galaxy S to 2.2 yet. In Europe we got the update months ago. Let the hate find it's rightful place.
