Samsung surround sound system Plays cds but won't play dvds

Samsung surround sound system will still play music cds but stopped playing movie dvds

I have seen DVD players fail in that way. Not just your Samsung. I don't think repair is feasible or cost effective.
Get a new disc player and connect it to the TV. You can still use the Samsung.
