Samsung tablet only powers on when plugged in, but says battery is full charge.

Samsung tablet only powers on when plugged in, but says battery has a full charge. This is a new problem in the past two weeks. The second I unplug the charger, black screen and won't turn on. Have to plug it back in to power on. Frustrated...


Anyone have this happen before? Suggestions??

Sounds like the battery needs replacing. When it is dying it will often say it is 'charged' even when it isn't due to it holding less and less of a charge. So my suggestion is replace the battery.

Having exactly the same issue - have replaced the battery with a brand new one, charged to 100% and done a full factory reset but it is still happening! Any Phone / Tablet / Android guru's out there that can help or advise ??

If you got an aftermarket battery that could be your problem. They are hit or miss. Also, if your battery isn't putting out enough power to start the device, then you may want to ahve it looked at to see if there is a problem with the battery connections.

Just had one of these come in for repair for the same fault... It's not the battery but the battery connector on the main board!

Unplug the battery and resolder - Job done!!
