Samsung tv flashing 3 lights after bulb replacement

Hello,
I have a samsung dlp hl-s6187w tv. It stopped working. I ordered and replaced the bulb(purchased from amazon) that wasnt factory. it was a phillips I believe. After I replaced the bulb (with housing) I turned on the tv. I saw smoke come out of the back of it. I unplugged immedietly. Now no more smoke but when I try and turn it on, it tries to boot up, and then it shuts down and I get 3 flashing lights on the front. I think it might be the power supply that fryed or the lamp ballast. I was going to replace both because they are not too expensive.

You're correct, it's probably either the power supply, or ballast. You could always start by getting a service manual, and testing the voltage from the power supply. That would at least give you a place to start. I posted a listing of service manuals a while back.
