Sata vs pci-e x4 for VR?

Anyone here have any experience with sata vs pci-e x4 SSD for VR games and apps? Just wondering if there is any noticeable improvement to loading.

No difference if you buy a really good SATA SSD.

I do not know about noticeable.
But, a X4 pcie ssd like the Samsung 960 will have a sequential transfer rate 4x faster.

For a truly faster device look at the Intel P900 Optane device. Very expensive though.
Hopefully, we will soon see the Samsung Z-SSD response.

Currently I am using a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB sata SSD for OS/AV/VR and a 2TB WD Black for normal games.
