Im just praying the nanobots don't run on a microsoft OS. Imagine half the worlds population randomly rebooting or just crashing out and collapsing in the streets XD

Aww, remember that part in Surrogate ? that kid was making out with this "HOT CHICK" outside the bar b4 he got shot ? on the other end of the "hot chick" is actually a ... aww gross.

Snore... Does the endless blathering of prophetic claims ever outreach mans own compulsion for incompetence. We can't even balance a federal budget or agree that killing babies is a bad thing. What makes you think we will survive a nano virus or worse... surrogates replacing our own lives until one day someone kills one and thus kills the owner and we realize we were designed like this for a reason? It will star Bruce Willis.

Cool! I can finally live long enough to see Duke Nukem get released in 3041!

Religion will f*** this up from ever becoming a reality!..
Think back to the first heart transplant, stem cells, etc...
"Your playing god"....LOL.. Stupid religious fanatics can go suck it!

Yea, but can you play crysis?
Don't you hate it when people keep posting that question?!

Stop giving that nut Kurzweil a platform. It's the same song he's been signing for twenty years with his so-called singularity where machines will become smarter than men, take over and turn the world into some Gibson inspired paradise.

All these futurist geek-lords need to stop harping on impending golden ages of unlimited, perpetually acceleating, change and spend more time explaining why the real world is COMPLETELY devoid of these kinds phenomeon .. and always has been.

Nature always finds a balance in the end, sometimes at our expense.

I think Ray Kurzweil just finished watching the first season of Fringe on Bluray. :)

Seriously, though, if something like this were to come to pass, you really don't need to worry about over-population and such. It's not like teams of people will be fanning out over the globe to distribute what is like to be incredible expensive treatments to people in third world countries. Even in top tier countries, these treatments would likely be available only to those who could pay in cash for them. Think plastic surgery and dental implants and the like.

Another thing to consider is that, if such technology is possible, it will likely be under military control for a very long time. Think super soldier serum.

They forgot to mention the country that obtains this knowledge/technology will cause world war 3 and eventually ends up with the earth goes bye bye.

Then after the virus has been tested shall we upload it to everyone containing nano tech and address the United Nations with my terms for the worlds surrender, or else.......

They said in the year 2000 cars would fly..and robots would be in every household... thanks but no thanks on accepting this as a fact...

try to make a chimp talk/act/think like a human first.. before u go to bigger words.... i guess ur old dying sponsers like hearing this so the funding wont stop.

Flying cars = feasible no, possible yes.

Robot-
1. A mechanical device that sometimes resembles a human and is capable of performing a variety of often complex human tasks on command or by being programmed in advance.

2. A machine or device that operates automatically or by remote control.

Many things can be considered robots if you look past the IRobot types. Computers, TV's, phones etc...
