Windows 7 64 bit
just formatted it.

AMD Radeon HD 5450 Graphic Card

I tried all the resolutions in windows settings

I tried all the resolution in the Catalyst Control Center (including 1080)

still the screen is smaller than my monitor (24" HD Dell Monitor)

i.e. there is a black frame separating the screen display from the edge of my monitor

i.e. the screen is not using all the monitor space.

solution?

Was this system fully functional before the reinstallation-or did you change any other things?

Usually, this is an indication that your system is not actually using the AMD driver for your card. Does the device manager indicate that the proper driver is installed and functioning?

There is probably also an option in your monitor's OSD that allows it to stretch any resolution to fit the screen. This will not fix the problem, however, of your computer not recognizing the correct resolution.

Yes AMD is the selected one as per device manager.

It is weird I looked everywhere and didn't find any answer. It is the weekend and I need the proper resolution for my resolution....

It looks like your driver is malfunctioning. I'm not sure, but I don't think this--
Work Resolution 1920x1040 pixels
State Enabled, Primary, Unsafe
is normal.

I would try to remove the driver, redownload it, and reinstall. You might try an older version or use the one available from Windows Update.
