I have an Acer R13 Chromebook. Looking to use a Sandisk 256 GB SD card for added storage. When I insert the SD card, it never shows up. I have done a powerwash, hardware reset, and went into the recovery tool and selected erase recovery media but it shows no USB or sd card. It's as if I never inserted the card. I inserted the card into my Windows laptop and it recognizes it with no problem so the card appears to be fine. I have a 32 GB PNY card I inserted into the Chromebook and it recognized that card right away. I'm at a loss why the Sandisk isn't being recognized? Is it the size of the card?

Normally some devices follow some specific procedure however new devices follow simple keyboard sequences. These are-

1) Turn off your Chromebook completely.
2) After that remove the SD card or USB drive.
  1. Then, hold down the Refresh key and then press and hold the Power button. Hold both down for another 10 seconds.
  2. Now, allow the Refresh key and then the Power button and your Chromebook will restart. If it doesn't work, then press the Power button again.
