Solved! SD card not recognized on Chromebook

I have an Acer R13 Chromebook. Looking to use a Sandisk 256 GB SD card for added storage. When I insert the SD card, it never shows up. I have done a powerwash, hardware reset, and went into the recovery tool and selected erase recovery media but it shows no USB or sd card. It's as if I never inserted the card. I inserted the card into my Windows laptop and it recognizes it with no problem so the card appears to be fine. I have a 32 GB PNY card I inserted into the Chromebook and it recognized that card right away. I'm at a loss why the Sandisk isn't being recognized? Is it the size of the card?
