Second hand pricing help

I have the acer aspire 5742-g , I'm attempting to sell the laptop on ebay .

My problems are that :
1. This laptop seems extremely "rare" I cannot find any laptops that have the same specification and name .
2. This makes it hard to "price" the laptop without being in-accurate over the price.

The specifications are as follows (their seems to be a large range of laptops called acer aspire 5742-g with different specifications).

Intel core i5-m460 quad core.

nvidia gt 420m (dedicated graphics)

4 gb ram .

500 gb hard drive.

I bought this laptop for roughly £550 , what price should I be looking to set this at?

Pretty sure you wont be making any cash on that laptop. Its at least 3 years old. I may be wrong, but it sounds like you overpaid.

You don't need to set a price against just other Acer 5750G.
Look up other Core i5 4xx CPUs with GT 420M graphics cards and set a competitive price.

Strange , device manager in windows 7 shows it as quad .
however I assume it has picked up the logical processors as supposed to cores.

That would be my guess too.
And I know the Task Manager will show 'four cores' on the performance monitoring tab.

well its a duel core with hyper threading which shows up as a quad in performance monitor..

Since you are putting up the laptop on ebay you don't really need to set a price if it's going to be placed on auction. You can start the price at £100 or £200 to attract interest in it and then place a reserve on the laptop. If the highest bid does not meet your minimum reserved price on it, then you are not obligated to sell the laptop. But you are still obligated to pay ebay whatever fees are normally associated with listing an item up for auction.

I sell reconditioned lappies in my shops....you will get around £150 to £250 MAX!

The reason is its second hand and people can buy a NEW lappy for mid £200s...
