SETTINGS for PS4 & Home Theatre OPTICAL SOUND

i just got a panasonic SC-BTT785 model , im trying to get DTS / Optical sound using this to my PS4 but, ugh!! its not working....HELP!!! lol i have 1 HDMI from ps4 to TV & 1 HDMI from home theatre to TV..! OPTICAL cable from home thaetre to PS4 also... why am i not getting DTS etc?

I would recommend purchasing of either an AVR Key 18Gbps or an Egreat H10 video audio splitter. Both are available on Amazon.
You will have not only DTS, but HD codecs as well.

You shouldn't have the optical wire going from PS4 to the soundbar, tv to soundbar is where u want the optical wire running. Use HDMI to hook up the others

I’m having issues as well but I have kilpsch rbs-6
I connected tv ps4 and sound bar. Via hdmi, I get all the sound except for the 7.1
Most all blu Ray movies are English 7.1.

You should really ditch the optical cable because you will not get full HD quality sound from it. Your HDMI cable may not work because you may need a HDMI 1.4 cable to carry the 7.1 channel audio bitstream.

Hello.

It sounds as if your sound settings in the PS4 are incorrect.

1) First of all, connect your Home Theater and PS4 directly on your TV, using HDMI.

2) Next use an optical cable directly form the TV, from the Optical Audio Out, and connect it in the Home Theater's optical connector.

3) Finally, adjust your audio settings in the PS4. Go to (Settings) > [Sound and Screen] > [Audio Output Settings]

Select HDMI as the primary output port. Then be sure to select Linear PCM in the settings. If it does not work initially, select another PCM mode, such as stereo PCM.

If this does not work, connect the optical cable directly from the PS4 to the Home Theater, and go to (Settings) > [Sound and Screen] > [Audio Output Settings]

Select [DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL)] as the Primary Output Port.

If this doesn't work...your PS4 or Home Theater are defective.

Hello, I am not very tech savvy and a bit confused by step 2. Can you explain it more? I see that I have a place for an optical cord on my tv. Where am I hooking it up to from my TV? To my PS4? Sorry I’m so confused.
