My TV is a few years old. I have an AppleTV connected to HDMI1 and the TVBox to HDMI2. Upto quite recently there have been no conflicts between the two, but now, when I wish to use the AppleTV and connect to HDMI1 the TV more or less immediately switches back to HDMI2. The only way is to physically disconnect the HDMI2 cable. I have tried with other AppleTVs and the same thing happenes.
Any good solutions to this problem, please?

Solution
Turn off the CEC function in the TV menu. Sharp may have another name for it. Check the owners manual.
CEC is supposed to make your system easier to use by having commands go through HDMI cables but it usually screws up.
The CEC function on the Sharp is called AquosLink. On my set there are three options i.e. Auto, Overscan, Underscan. Neither made any change to the problem. The HDMI2 (TV box) overrides the HDMI1 (Apple TV). This means that if I wish to use the Apple TV (for Netflix etc.) I have to pull out the HDMI2 cable. Rather inconvenient. Thanks anyway for trying to help.

Theyre not aquoslink controls mate, theyre just aspect ratio options.

open your tv menu, you should have a link operation submenu

you should be able to turn aquos link control off completely.

Unable to find any reference to AquosLink and the option to turn it off. Have searched the TV menu as well as the printed manual. Anyway, thanks for you interest in trying to solve the problem. Let's just forget about it. I don't use AppleTV that much and when I do I can easily pull out the HDMI2 cable.

whats the actual tvmodel mate??
Just realised you asaid a few years old in which case it probably doesnt have anything resembling aquoslinks intelligent hdmi control.

Id argue with it happening recently that the issue is more likely with an online update to the appletv or tvbox.
Whats the tvbox model??
