I have a Sharp tv model; lc-37sh20u : screen went black, green power light blinks any suggestions on ways to trouble shot this problem?

Try connecting another tv and make sure the signal is not the issue. Swap out the cables, and double check all is connected.

I have this same problem but if I hold the power button for a long time,It works for about a minute again before going black and starts the green power blinking

Unlike computers, when these HDTV's go, there is not much to fix.

Will need to consider taking it to a repair shop, vs a simple replacement.

It is a 37" 720p set, so I would expect that it will be cheaper to just replace it, and go with the upgrade to 1080p in the process.
