Hi all i'm a computer engineer, and i have a 3 years old laptop, these are the specs:

Dell XPS 15 L502x
Intel Core i7 2630qm
16GB DDR3 Ram
Samsung SSD 840 120GB (os disk)
500GB Hard Disk (Data disk)
Nvidia GT 540m 2GB Video Card
1366x768 laptop screen resolution
2 External screens (21" 1680x1050) conected to hdmi and minivga
Windows 8.1

What i want? I want at least an improve of 70% or 80% in overall performance; what i do?

After Effects rendering
Sony vegas editing and rendering
Web Design
Very occasional Gaming (but i like the games in full resolution and max effects, so i can't play new games)
Network Design
and other things....

So, wich laptop do you reccomend to me that:

Gives me 70-80% improve in overall performance
cheap (1000usd max)
not too heavy

I have a similar 3-year-old notebook, Acer Aspire TimelineX 5830TG-2434G75Mibb with Core i5-2430m and GT 540m. I researched the websites and found that my i5-2430m is still comparable to the newer i5-4210U processor. The GT540m is a problem as there are newer and more powerful GT 750m and Geforce 840m. I think I will wait out another year because technology hasn't moved 70-80% improvement over my 2011 notebook.

It's much cheaper to build a micro-ATX desktop PC with a graphics card like GTX 750 Ti with dual DVI ports to connect to your dual monitors.
