"Simple" TT setup driving me bananas lol

I added an Onkyo receiver to my simple setup (an AudioTechnica LP120 tt and a pair of AE A5+s), for the sole purpose of having a headphone option.
I am a novice... and am unable to get the powered speaker of the A5+ to work with the receiver. The passive speaker works just fine...

Is the powered one not going to?
Is there a workaround that anyone can help me with?

I did switch the turntable's line function already, so as to skip its internal amp.

I connect the speaker wire end to the back of my receiver and then an RCA from this to the inputs on my powered speaker?

Receiver has no TAPE OUT, MONITOR OUT? if available, those can be used as Pre-Out.

Ooohhh...... wait, yes!! There IS a tapeout area on the back of the receiver. That will do the same as the above workaround? The Scosche piece?

Try it, TAPE OUT TO SPKR. Nothing is gonna blow up, if it doesn't work, THEN u buy the converter.

Tape out will work find but you will not be able to adjust the speaker volume with the receiver since it's a fixed level output. You would do that on the A5s.
