note: most people recommend lenovo y510p, however they do NOT recommend it if you won't make use of the SLI for gaming. I won't be using two GPUs, only one. They said better options are available for single GPU gaming laptops, but never stated which ones specifically.

Looking for:
single gpu only
No overheating issues (so bulkiness is happily welcomed)
Screen Size of 15+ inches.
Graphic capabilities: modern games with high-ish settings, and with finer detailed options turned off (such as anti aliasing)
HDMI-out
full 1080p res

Things that don't matter to me:
weight
battery life
having a lot (750+GB) of hard disk

You aren't going to find a good gaming laptop that cheap. Xotic PC have the GIGABYTE Q2556N-CF3 with a GTX740 in a 15.6" screen for around 850. The 740m will barely even play games.

Plan to keep the major things, like texture detail and such high, and reflections and the more unnoticable, FPS eating options turned down/off

Even still, something like the 740M is really low powered, about half the speed of a 7770. The cheapest one at Xotic I would recommend if you actually want to play a game on it is the SAGER NP6658 at about 920 bucks and has an 850m. Even then you're talking mid range settings at best and probably shooting for 30fps in most games.
