Snapdragon vs intel/amd

I recently bought a HTC Desire a very good smartphone, with a 1 ghz snapdragon CPU...

I know it currently is one of the fastest smartphones on sale today, my question is however "how fast a 1ghz snapdragon processor is compared to cpu's from intel or amd?"

What sort of CPU's from Intel/AMD? I don't believe that either company has processors in any mobile phones just yet, but that could change in the coming months. If you are wanting to compare the snapdragon to a desktop CPU, it is like comparing apples to oranges, i.e. a desktop or even a laptop CPU is far superior.

Compering apples to oranges is excactly what i want. I dont expect mobile cpu to be comparable to modern cpu's rather old cpus e.g. pentiums.
