So I purchased a acer-aspire-e5-551-t374 and I'm just trying to get it to work but when I push the power button it gives me three long beeps then two short ones. Anyone got suggestions?

It's a hardware problem, though I can't find any specific reference for that particular beep pattern.
If it's a new laptop, contact Acer to get it fixed under warranty.

Have you tried replacing the on-board battery? Acer do like to be awkward! 🙂
