Soap opera effect

Help! I need a smart tv that doesn't make tv shows and movies look like home movies.

Buy any TV that is 60Hz. The "Soap Opera" effect is caused by high refresh rates (120, 240 Hz), so if you buy a TV with a lower refresh rate, you'll no longer have that effect.

There are some higher end TV's with high refresh rates that have built-in features to reduce the effect, but they're going to cost more.
