Hello, I recently bought an HP ab102no which I mostly use for the office programs. But every now and then I want to play games on it, but they all run very poorly.

I've tried tf2, telltale's walking dead and dead space 1. The performance trend that I've noticed is that the fps is decent, but when I walk into new areas, for example by opening doors in dead space 1, the game completely freezes for a while as if it had to load a completely new level.

The laptop has a fairly recent graphics driver installed so that shouldn't be the problem. Something I've tried is turning off windows searching to disable indexing.

Some specs:

CPU: AMD A10-8700P, quad core with a frequency varying between 1,8 and 2,5 ghz
GPU: Radeon R7 M360 2gb DDR3
RAM: 8 gb DDR3

Also yes, I've made sure it's not running on the cpu's graphics module or any other sort of power-saving settings.

Solution

only if the areas is load into ram, they might not if the level is huge

No, those are two very different things.

Loading a level means moving files from your storage unit (HDD or SSD) onto your RAM. Loading areas within levels means rendering things that are already on your RAM.
