Hello guys, quite a few of my clients complain that whenever they remote (RDC) to their workstations (with multiple screens) then go back to logon to them (when they are back in their office), they find that all their open windows have been displaced and they have to re-position them again.

Anyone knows of a remote desktop connection solution that supports multiple screens and will prevent the displacement of open windows upon return to the machine?

Any info is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Frank

Windows' built in RD client supports multimonitor but only if the resolution of both monitors is identical.

The displacement issue your clients see is possibly due to a resolution mismatch between the remote desktop client and server machines, as well as a difference in the number of monitors used. I run two 1920x1080 monitors at work and a single 2560x1440 at home. Things go a bit haywire when I get back into the office.

Their open windows are displaced and they have to re-position them again; meaning they're still open but the windows are in different locations? Not quite sure I'm understanding that.

The entire time I've used RDP, I have never known this to happen. Also, if you update the machines to Windows 7 SP1, the version of RDP there supports dual/external monitor usage.
