Hello,
I am using Compaq Presario V3000 Laptop with DVD Reader Writer. When I try to run some Video DVD, these are not detected. When I check in My Computer, E drive is showing nothing. The same DVD runs well in Home DVD player connected to TV. These are DVD's bought from DVD Shops.

thats the fault of the dvd writer in your presario, did you look for an updated firmware for the device, updated firmware fixes problems like this....or you could pick up a new dvd writer.I go through a lot of burners and encoun tered this problem before, for instance I have x-files season 5 and dvd's 1 and 2 play fine on my comp, but dvd 3 will not play on my comp, but play just fine on my stand-alone dvd players.....also some dvd's are mastered quite poorly, that could be the problem too....
