i can understand the difference between a Nazi killing a US soldier because none of the children of the soldier will ever play it. and a terrorist killing a US soldier now.

what about games like GTA4 where your a criminal killing cops?

[citation][nom]partytime[/nom]And playing as a Nazi killing us troops is different... How???[/citation]
Guessing the only difference is Nazis are in the past while Taliban are now, really it makes no difference. It's the same damn thing but since it's fresh in their minds they take more offense to it.

Without being disrespectful to our brave fallen...If you don't like it don't play it....simple as. It's not like its going to cause further death, it's just a game.

Also there is no place for politics in games, instead of trying to gain kudos by making controvertial statements about high profile games just concentrate on not being a bunch of corupt lying f**k wits.

hmm... can see this as opening lost market share in the middle east where new sales generated could possibly out strip sales lost by 100:1.

i can also see this being used as a great training tool for all the troopers over there or going over there as a veteran says: " let me show you what tactics muadi jihadi uses, i'll play the taliban, you rookies get to be the US, now when you get to a place like this out on patrol and do this manuever, this is how they usually hit you on the first round....."

also if this has international multiplayer i can see this as a huge win as maybe, just maybe some taliban will be so busy killing blips on a screen they'll be too busy to do it in real life, and vent out a big portion of this rage, but it also will teach them how to co-ordinate and fight better, not so good in my opinion.

[citation][nom]wotan31[/nom]Because there are ZERO eighty-five year olds who fought in WWII who are avid computer gamers. On the other hand, the age of many US troops fighting and dying in war today puts them squarely in the video game demographic. If someone had released a Kamikaze board game in 1944 I bet it would have been met with some serious disdain. This is no different. It has nothing to do with "our side" getting killed in a video game. It has everything to do with our side getting killed in a video game, while simultaneously our side is actually getting killed on a real battlefield. I will bet cash money that not one of you commenters making fun of this situation has ever served a day in the armed forces. Think about that.[/citation]

I have served in the armed forces, and yes, I agree with most gamers, it's just a game. People are just raising a ruckus because they think everyone should feel the same way they do, and are extremely hippocritical because they won't raise a ruckus about WWII of which there are still many survivors of that time period, or descendants who lost loved ones during that time and you don't see them complaining about "Saving Private Ryan", MOH, COD 1,2,3, and 5, or any other number of WWII sims. These are people who just want to get attention and the best way to do that nowadays is throw a fit about something touchy, like, I don't know, videogame violence. And I bet you most of those people are NRA members ironically enough.

I think the protesters need to chill and put themselves in OUR shoes for once. When I'm playing a game like this and happen to be on the 'bad guys' side... Never does it occur to me that I'm murdering US Soldiers. I'm just fighting the OTHER TEAM.
Bad Company 2's MP has me killing US Soldiers but I never saw it that way... I sure as hell am not going to try to join the US side only cause I hate terrorists...

Also, the article says it's a mom of the soldier, I haven't heard any complaints from current or former members of the armed forces, and never have for any violent game about this or any other war. This is clearly coming from someone who is still mentally and emotionally traumatized for her loss, and I'm sorry for that, but the world is NOT going to stop and cater to her, it never will.

Sorry but, this is just a game. As brave as those soldiers were, they were killed by bullets, explosions, knives etc.. Not by Mice, Keyboards and console controllers. This is just a game.

Three words: IT"S A GAME!!!!. I am in the Canadian Military. I couldn't give a rat's but if I played Osma Bin Laden. I know I am not him. Good grief.

First off, this is a game, just like Postal and GTA4. Second, We didn't tell these people to buy the game, nor do we tell them to stop watching Desperate Housewives of NJ. JMO

Lol, people are such racists:

Taliban are mostly people like American, Canadian, Chinese.

it's only the religious/government propaganda that makes us hate each others.

This has to stop.... so many idiot hates theses days.

This censorship is insane. How can you have player vs. player if you force everybody to play on the same side? You need at least one guy on each side.

What do they want, British uniforms instead of Taliban? But that would result in a game where British soldiers and American soldiers shoot each other, for crying out loud...

Do the American's get to disrupt Afghani wedding celebrations and funeral wakes. And are there any Photojournalists to attack from gunships? Must keep it real, now.

Friendly fire is so aptly named, donjathink?

Wow, seriously???

This is stupid.

Didn't they know that according to COD 5, thousands of American children lost their fathers and mothers there husbands to Nazis???
Shouldn't that game be banned also then???? Disgusting, people said they would never forget ww2, but here they have forgotten it.

Hey!!! If they ban it in US and UK for this!!!

I know it is gonna make a shit load of profit in the Middle east and Paksitan !!!!! HAH LOL.
