Some sounds missing

When i play games such as minecraft on my PC using 32bit Java and Logitech speakers, some sounds like breaking blocks come through, whilst other sounds like walking around, swimming and music dont come through. I am sure it is not an issue with the game as all the volume settings are correct and everything is in order, but i really dont have a clue at what is going on.

I would back up your saves and reinstall the game.

Usually this type of thing happens when certain files in the game are corrupted or the audio files are deleted/moved.
