to zaperbaby123: The PS3 was always intended to be a gaming console first with a blu-ray player. I am sure that it was not envisioned by Sony that people would find a way to STEAL content, CHEAT at online games on PSN, or REDIRECT online gaming to outside servers. But, because people decided to hack the system to STEAL, CHEAT, and DISRUPT the user experience, Sony removed features that allowed this systemic activity to occur.
If the hackers had only been able to control themselves, then this whole mess wouldn't be an issue. Put blame where it belongs, on the hacker community and their narcissistic belief that it's OK to STEAL, CHEAT, and DISRUPT honest, hard working people.
They can make it so tough on Sony that the Playstation dies and the real losers are the consumers, and the hackers who have a CHOICE of consoles and features they like best.
It's not about the hacking, or corporate geed, it's about the STEALING, CHEATING, and DISRUPTION that is at issue. The hackers got greedy, which hurts everyone, and now they are crying because they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
I am old fashion, and the customer isn't always right!!! Would you want to fly on a plane if a paying passenger with two broken legs wants to sit next to the emergency exit? Would you be willing to put your life in that passenger's hand because the customer is always right?
