Sony Home theater system won't play movies

It won't play movies but it will play audio CDs. When trying to watch a movie it reads then stops and doesn't play, it will say no disc

This can happen where a DVD player will stop playing DVDs but still play CDs. If it is out of warranty it will probably cost more to fix than is reasonable in most HTiB systems. Cheaper to buy a stand alone Blueray player. Hopefully you have the connections to hook one up

OK I have a bluray player too but its not hooked up. I have the home theater hooked up to the TV. How do I hook up my bluray player so that I get the surround sound from home theater? The home theater only has 1 HDMI plug which is connecting it to TV. I can hook up bluray to TV with no problem but it uses the TV speakers.
