I was wondering,
I have an aplication where a sony LDP 1550 is being used. Can I
substitute a Sony MDP 1150 in its place? Do both sony LDP's and MDP's
have the same command codes? Both the Sony LDP 1550 and the Sony MDP
1150 have an RS 232 interface on them. Would a swap between the LDP
1550 and MDP 1150 be workable without complications?
Please help.

They should. Simply set the dip switches on the MDP-1150 to the same settings
on the LDP-1550.

Another route to go, which would be better, is to buy a commercial Pioneer
player with an RS-232 and set the dip switches exactly like the ones on the old
player.

The interface is industry standard and should work on any player that has an
RS-232 port. - Reinhart
