Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

In the 80s, I remember being impressed and thrilled with my Commodore 64 and all it could do. Before that, I had a TI-994a... my first computer. If I would have seen this technology back then, it may as well have been magic.

+1 husker... I'd want something with rigidity to it that won't curl up when I'm reading it. I do understand how this idea could evolve for heads-up-displays however, so there are practical uses for this version as well if they can make it transparent.

[citation][nom]Parsian[/nom]i think they have something similar in one of these movies as well:The Red PlanetMission to Mars[/citation]
Also the TV show: Caprica on Syfy channel ie: prequel type show to Battlestar Galactica. They had that paper thing that was the interface to the virtual world, etc.

Very cool, I cant wait to see this put into consumer type products. The posibilities for this are HUGE!

I dont remember exactally were I have seen this tech before almost TEN years ago, maybe in Popular Science, must be a very hard tech to develop if it is taking this long to bring it to market.

Honestly who frign' cares if it rolls up. MAKE A COMPUTER MONITOR THAT IS NOT BACKLIT for crying out loud !!! You can send me the royalties after. I don't care if its slow, only that I can plug it into my computer and enjoy reading pdf's on my desktop without my eyes stinging. Or editing code, or 90 % of the other things I do with my computer. I'll play the videos on the other monitor. I can't understand why these are not out, people are not sitting in the office dreaming of unrolling their e-paper newspaper on the subway on the way home, they are dreaming of their eyes not hurting all day when they read stuff on their monitors !!!!
