Sony vaio power light won't turn off! Help :(

I have a Sony vaio laptop running on windows vista & since yesterday after shutting it down the green power on/off light won't turn off!? Anyone know why? Or how I can sort this out??

UNPLUG charger ..REMOVE battery...then reassemble and try again...

UNPLUG charger ..REMOVE battery...then reassemble and try again...

When/if you try this, press the power button a few times after disconnecting everything and leave it as is for 2 -3 minutes. This will drain the current and refresh the embedded controller.

After it has sat for a few minutes, then go ahead; reconnect your power source(s) and try again.
