SONY VAIO VGN-FW190 * New hard drive installation *

I recently bought a used Sony Vaio VGN-FW190 without a hard drive. So I went out and purchased a new hard drive and also purchased the recovery DVDs from Sony. I followed the directions on the back of the DVD case and got the message,

OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND
PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE

Is there some secret Sony way of installing the dvd's onto the new hard drive? I didn't format the new hard drive as I thought perhaps the dvds would do that for me.


Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

You need to speak to Sony -- the recovery DVD may expect a certain size of hard disk to be present.
