Sony Vegas Pro 13 clash with Razer Headphones

I have the Razer Kraken Chroma 7.1 Surround Sound Headphones. Not a single complaint about them but as soon as i installed Sony Vegas Pro onto my computer, my Krakens no longer play any media audio(anything from my editing videos, to YouTube, to game audio, even basic voice recordings), though any Windows sounds/chimes still come through them just fine. Also, the Razer surround sound test works fine through them. ALL audio works fine when I set the audio playback to another device, but not my Krakens. I am completely stumped. Please help.

nevermind. figured it out. dont get up. applications need to be open to modify individual settings. ie. MUTE... somehow turned on across the board in Razer Synapse.
