sonyvegas crash help

So Basicly I am using Sony vegas Pro 14 and it does this aswell on Pro 13 but I get the program open I put my video into the timeline, and I click the play button to play the video the video doesnt play at all, the audio plays but its stuck on frame one.. I pause the video and my sonyvegas crashes, so idk what to do...

What format are the source files in (.avi, .mp4, .mov, .mts, or something else)? Does the crash occur regardless of the type of source file used?
