Sound bar no woofer

My toddler nephew lost the remote to my parents' LG soundbar (NB2540). They got a universal remote but it won't control the subwoofer. The audio compresses really bad at high bass moments in music and movies because my dad turns the bad to minimum to watch football. Aside from buying a replacement (having to track multiple remotes is very annoying with toddlers around), what else can I do for them?

Universal remotes although stated to be universal, can't control all the nooks and cranny's in devices.

A Logitech Harmony universal remote is programmed online with IR codes from their huge database. They will have at least as many codes for a device as the original remote. You can check in advance that they have the codes for that soundbar. It will also handle all the other parts of the system.
