Sound bar not producing sound.

Hi guys, I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I couldn't find a solution for my problem else where.
I have recently bought a Vizio TV E480i-B2 and a Vizio Sound bar S4251w-B4.
I have the TV connected to my Macbook via HDMI cable and the TV connected to the Sound bar via optical cable - and my problem is that I cannot get sound from the sound bars with this arrangment, the sound only comes out from the TV itself.
What is it that I am missing?

I was able to figure it out by myself, I just had to turn of the TV speakers!
