Hey guys, I'm made this thread to ask for a sound card recommendations. I currently have a Asus Maximus VI Formula for my motherboard but it seems like it's not giving enough power to my Sennheiser G4ME ZERO(150ohms) even thought the motherboard claims to support up to 600 ohms of impedance.

My question is, which sound card should I buy? Can you please give me a few changes in different price ranges please?

Also, if I got a cheap Asus Xonar DG, would it do any difference?

They're different by about $24 :) ... $52 on newegg

Use the compare function on newgg site.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=-1&IsNodeId=1&Description=Sound%20Blaster%20Z&bop=And&CompareItemList=-1|29-102-049^29-102-049%2C29-102-048^29-102-048&percm=29-102-049%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B29-102-048%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24

Now THG form software will break that link so go to www.nwewegg.com and then paste

/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=-1&IsNodeId=1&Description=Sound%20Blaster%20Z&bop=And&CompareItemList=-1|29-102-049^29-102-049%2C29-102-048^29-102-048&percm=29-102-049%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B29-102-048%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24

after the "m" in newegg.com

See the thing on the bottom...

unless your computer has terrible on board sound (which it dosnt) you dont need a sound card. from my experience they sound exactly the same as the motherboard.

Hey when I listen to a song, the high sounds are okay but when it comes to the lows, it sounds weak. I say that it's because of the Impedance.

It's not that I'm saying it's terrible, but I want to step it up.

Thanks so much. I was always curious of what it compares to. But I feel that it`s not working well enough even though the xonar says it supports 150ohms.

How are these 2 different?
