Sound playing through scart output instead of vga

I have connected my laptop to my TV using a VGA cable and it works fine. To get the sound I know i needed to connect a RCA cable but my tv does not have the red and white inputs so I added them using a scart plug in and now my sound plays through the scart output and not the VGA. Can anyone help?

Sorry, I don't get it! Your sound plays through the scart and not the VGA? VGA has no sound. Explain your problem again.
