Solved! Soundbar loud noise

Lord noise from soundbar when changing TV channels
Connecting a new Majority soundbar to a Hisense H55n5300 TV, Soundbar works fine but every time I change channels there is a deafening noise for a second from the soundbar, like a gun going off! - worrying to say the least! This happens when connected using an optical cable, or rca cables, but not via headphone jack connection. I would rather use the optical connection but this noise is is driving us crazy. Can anyone help?

Are you using the internal TV tuner or an external set top box?

If it's the internal tuner try the above and changing any other audio settings you find,
If it's a set top box do the same in its' audio menu.

Many thanks for your answer. TV comes through a mag 256 iptv box. Have changed all I could find, even connected direct to this box from the soundbar via an optical cable to the spdif port on the box the soundbar worked fine like that but still the loud gunfire noise, if you don't expect it-scares you to death! Will go to the link you have given me, cheers, much appreciated
