speaker wattage vs receiver wpc

my receiver puts out 45 wpc. would i damage speakers rated for 40 watts? my other speakers are 60 watt.

No you won't but take note of the impedance of the speakers? Some receivers may have issue driving lower impedance speakers of say 4 ohms and lower
