Hello,
I am running Windows 7, and am setting up my pc to be able to record gameplay and audio. I noticed in Properties for my sound devices (right-click on the Volume tab -> playback devices -> right-click Speakers -> Advanced) by default it is set to 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality). Since I need to record audio also I need to enable Stereo Mix (Realtek). Checking Properties for Stereo MIx, (right-click on the Volume tab -> recording devices -> right-click Stereo Mix -> Advanced) by default is set to 2 channel 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality).

Should I change the Stereo Mix to match the Speakers?

Thank you for any help.

Solution
The first setting is for playback quality. The second recording quality. Don't need to match.
The files will be larger if you record them in 24bit. I doubt that you would even notice the difference for game play.
