I've been considering buying a set of speakers or decent headphones for my PC, which currently uses the sound from my TV/monitor.
Which is adequate enough but isn't amazing. I really don't know where to begin when looking at speakers and headsets.
I mainly use my PC for gaming and watching films/videos, sometimes listening to music as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

EDIT: budget max £150 obviously a bit over is ok

updated around max £150 I'm also not to sure about what type i should go for i don't think a 5.1 or bigger would be good for me though as I think it would be hard to find a good place to put all speakers.

For speakers, you could use something like a 3.1 system if you don't have much room. That would be 2 front speakers, one sub and one center channel. A center channel is most important speaker for movies. Depending how much room you have bigger front speakers, you may not need a sub at this time and purchase one later. This system i'm referring to would be a home speaker setup so then you would need a receiver(or some amps,or amplified speakers). This would pretty much blow your budget. If you have a used stereo dealer around your area, you could just start out with some good front speakers and upgrade as you go.

You can buy some pretty decent headphones for 150 pounds. But like the speakers you need to find a place to listen before you buy.

Happy listening, the Prisoner...

Cheers for the advice don't suppose there are any headphones you would recommend?

Also I game quite a lot so do you think gaming headphones would be worthwhile or are they not worth the fuss?

Well, there is a big debate whether to buy gaming headsets or just good regular stereo headsets. So you should research various forums.

I won't recommend any specific headsets because they are even more subjective than speakers. Pretty much buy something that sounds good and is comfortable to wear.
