Speakers quiet through soundcard?

I have an Asus Xonar U7 with both my headphones and speakers plugged into, headphones have been perfect since i got this setup, my speakers have their own amp to power them, i plugged them into the xonar through RCA, switched to speakers and no matter how high i set windows/asus/amp volume they stay pretty quiet. I have gone through settings and checked drivers all appears fine, any ideas?

yes they are, i said in the paragraph, there are 2 30w speakers running off the included 80w amp, its a pioneer setup.
