I have an 80's era Technics stereo. Can I hook new speakers into it and what would be a good choice. Not alot of cash, maybe a couple of hundred dollars. Plus is it hard to clean the volume dial, I have major static.
All I can tell you is the amp is a SU-V16 and the tuner is a ST-S16.It may help if you put in the exact model you have, Technics made more than one thing during the 80s.
Thank you so much for the info and your time! That integrated amp has 30 watt x 2 into an 8 ohm speaker. Some specs are given for 4 ohms speakers so 4 or 6 ohms speakers would probably work too.

To clean the volume control the first thing to try is, with the unit off, rotate the control 25-30 times. Sometimes this will help.
