Static Popping Noises While Recording on Asus Laptop

I've tried three mics in total: The built-in mic, a cheap external mic, and a more expensive Snowball Ice Blue mic. All of which are producing a static popping noise while I record speech.

I've been trying to find the solution to this for weeks (which is why I even ordered the Snowball in the first place). Now, I'm getting fed-up.

Help!

Hi,

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the sound card driver?
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Sound card driver.
- Once uninstalled, download and install the latest driver from ASUS.
- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed then test it again.
- If it will still not work, try recording while the laptop is just running on it's battery and see if the same problem will persist or not.
- If all these will not work last result would be to reinstall Windows but if that will still not work and if the laptop is still under the factory warranty, do contact ASUS for a repair.

Hi. Thanks for the response to my dilemma. I've already scanned my Realtek for updates and none were found. Do I still need to uninstall and reinstall?
