storage reduced in my s2 gi9100

I am having a Samsung galaxy s2 gi9100. I had android 4.1.1 n it...

So I installed a custom ROM from xda devlpers. My storage space when I broughtvwas 16gb. But now I hav only 12gb. How can I increase my storage space...

Also can anyone suggest me a battery friendly ROM

It would seem the ROM requires more system space(to install),you get it back by going back to the old 4.1 ROM but you can never have the maximum 16GB.
