Stream from PC Server to TV

Hi there,

I currently have a HTPC that I watch my shows from but I want to reduce the footprint around my media center.

Is it possible to stream video and audio content directly to my TV from my PC server (planning to build one and leave it in the office for this purpose). And it is possible to have 1080p quality going this route?

Please suggest hardware and software.

Are you talking about a home office? The server would be in another room in your house? Or are you talking about the server being in a different location from your house and accessible through the internet?

i want to build a central server to put in the office of my house. i'd like my videos/music/photo/misc content to stream from here to my tv w/o using a the htpc.
