Hi,

In any game the moment my fps dips below 60 there's stuttering to the point where it looks like I'm playing at 20 fps. This happens in all games. My drivers are up to date as well and I can't think of any reason why this would be happening. Even my older laptop, which couldn't even reach 60 fps had smooth gameplay above 30fps. I've tried turning off v sync in the game settings and using the NVIDIA v sync and vice versa. I've also tried turning off all v syncs but to no avail.

Laptop is a Lenovo y700
Gtx 960m 4gb
I7 6700hq
16gigs ram
1tb hdd/128gb ssd

Is something overheating that's causing the dips/stuttering? I've always said 30 fps stable on a rig performing right is better than 100fps on a rig having issues.

Not too sure. I'll try playing now while monitoring my temps. I'll get back to you

What resolution are you gaming at? From a Google search the Y700 has a 4k screen, if trying to game at 4k you will have problems as the GPU is listed as a 960m. You will need to run no higher than 1080p.
